The battle for the national handball league title continued over the weekend at Namboole Stadium with UPDF men and defending champions Prisons spears maintaining their winning form.

General Katumba Wamala's boys (UPDF men) defeated Police Arrows 26-24 to keep their title hopes alive.

UPDF opened the league with a win over Ndejje University, a team that last year dented their hopes for a trophy when they defeated UPDF in the first round.

In the other men's games, defending champions Prisons Spears were 38-25 winners over Police Kifaru and Police Metro defeated Kakungulu Memorial 38-25.

In the women's league, UPDF Ladies failed to match up the Prison warders as they lost  32-20 to Prisons Spears in another exciting fixture.
