Sport S Tigers will on Sunday gauge whether they are ready for NSSF Serie A volleyball League when they face NemoStars at Mubs Nakawa.


Nemo Stars that early this year experienced international exposure when they competed in the African Club Championship in Sousse, Tunisia, will be out to start on a positive note as they target this year's crown.

They won the KIU Open, finished second in MUST Open in Mbarara, and had earlier finished third at the Jinja Open championship.

Nemo Stars team captain George Aporu still reckons the 3-0 defeat by SPORT S  last season and has cautioned his charges against complacency.

"Sport-S Tigers might be a newly promoted side, but if we are to win the title again, we need to take every game seriously and we are not underestimating any team," Aporu Stated.

The team has acquired  the services of coach Joseph Opio taking over from his predecessor Anthony Ndawula who left the country for USA.

Opio belives that the time has been with team since this year begun he has learnt a lot and he has a good side.

"I'm looking forward to it, have been doing a lot of ground work during the open tournaments we have played and at least I know  a lot about the opponents and I know how to prepare my team accordingly," Opio stated.

Brussels airlines boost KAVC

Kampala amateur volleyball Club (KAVC) was on Thursday morning boosted sponsorship partnership with Brussels airlines.

KAVC will from now longer spend on kits as the airline company will dress them with two home and away kits and a set of track suits.

This was confirmed by the club vice president Daina Agaba at a function held at Lugogo Sports Fitness Studio where both parties declared a 2015/2016 partnership.

"Partnership with KAVC is one of our Corporate Social Responsibility and we want to see that Volleyball grows," brussels airline country director Sebastiaan Spijkers stated.

KAVC vice president lauded brussels airlines for the support and urged other corporates companies to emulate brussels and invest in sports.
