The Legend's Ball, a musical night that brings local musical greats together every after three months, returned Thursday night at Club Guvnor with musicians Moses Matovu, Tony Ssenkebejje, Sammy Kasule, Eddy Ganja and Frank Mbalire headlining it.

This night is always packed to the brim and so it was this time that, by the time the artistes of the night took to stage at 11:00pm, the mood was already up and warm.

First to perform, backed by the other legends, was Ssenkebejje who started with his version of Georgia.

It was the song that set the tempo for the other performers and had the crowds slowly drawn to the dance floor. The others then followed and the night went on.

Matovu, also on saxophone, led on most of Afrigo's old songs, while Mbalire, as well on guitar, did his rendition of Elly Wamala's Akana Ka Kawalya and Eddy Ganja did Ensimbi Zo.

The night's emcee, Andrew Patrick Luwandagga, as he is wont to do on these nights, kept reminding people of happening places in Kampala, those in the crowds used to frequent in the 1970s and ' 80s for Afrigo's performances and other outings.

It was a night of nostalgia and fun that was worth the time.
