Kabaka Birthday Golf event to raise sh10m

The Uganda Golf Union (UGU) has organized a one-day tournament dubbed ‘The Diamond Golf Tournament’ to celebrate Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s 60th birthday.

The Uganda Golf Union (UGU) has organized a one-day tournament dubbed ‘The Diamond Golf Tournament’ to celebrate Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s 60th birthday.

The Uganda Golf Union (UGU) has organized a one-day tournament dubbed ‘The Diamond Golf Tournament’ to celebrate Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s 60th birthday.

The tournament will be held at Kitante golf course on April 11, a day before the Royal Run.

The Katikiro of the Buganda Kingdom, Charles Peter Mayiga will tee off the event that will have corporate teams and individuals.
Ministers in Buganda Kingdom Henry Kiberu  Sekabembe (sports) and Waggwa Nsibirwa (Planning and Investment) presided over the event at the Uganda Golf Union.

Captains, Henry Rugamba, Eng. Sam Mubiru with the lady Captain Dr. Katy Kabenge represented the Union and thanked the Kingdom for accepting the proposal.
“We hope to raise over sh10m from the event from corporate teams of four players each and individuals

Teams will pay sh400,000 while individuals pay sh10,000,” said Mubiru.

Nsibirwa, who is also head of the organising committee of the celebrations, said;
“The tournament has joined the mainstream celebrations of the event and the proceedings will be given to the cause of fighting Fistula.”

Tugume challenges Golola
Meanwhile, kickboxer Titus Tugume has pledged to buy a ticket for his rival Moses Golola to be able to participate in this year’s Kabaka Birthday Run on April 12, adds Johnson Were.

Tugume disclosed this on Monday after buying his ticket and that of fellow kickboxer Abu Kikenwa.

“I also call on Golola to join me. I will even buy him a ticket if he accepts to run,” Tugume said.
