DESPITE qualifying for the Bamburi Rugby Super Series (BRSS) semi-final, Rwenzori is not taking this weekend’s game lightly and will field a full strength squad to take on Kenyan side Ndovu in the final group game at Kyadondo Rugby Club on Saturday.

Rwenzori coach Fred Mudoola disclosed recieving a sh10m sponsorship package from Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) to help Ugandan franchise teams Victoria and Rwenzori in their preparations.

Rwenzori this Saturday play Kenya side Ndovu in the game they have to win if they are cement their position at the top of Pool B.

“Our aim is to win yet again and we are assessing players’ injury, fatigue and other factors to determine who is fit enough to take part in that game,” Mudoola stressed while also ruling out resting any fit player in preparation for the semi-final.

Lock Joel Anguyo and prop Timothy Kabonero are the only major injury concerns for Mudoola.

Rwenzori who are top of Pool B with 9 points will face either Nyumbu or UAP Papa who are tied on 10 points each in Pool B depending on results elsewhere.

KCB’s head of marketing Jean Mugisha handed over the sh10m cheque to Hima Cement’s commercial manager Patrick Mugenyi at the bank’s offices on Jinja Road.
