Titus Tugume, who lost his last kickboxing fight in devastating fashion, wants to make a strong comeback.
The UPDF club member was knocked out by the sport’s most popular athlete Moses Golola in the opening round of their fight in 2013.
Tugume wants to have a go at the East and Central Africa crown that he lost after being torn part by Golola.
Golola, who is the title holder, is yet to find an opponent to challenge him.
Tugume said he has been off the sport because of studies at Kampala International University.
The fighter said he is ready to mount a serious challenge against Golola, who has popularised the sport because of his humorous talk.
Tugume said he lost to Golola because of what he described as a lucky punch.
“Before fighting Golola, I want to have a build up contest against Mohammed Ali from Zanzibar on March 7 in Kampala,” Tugume stated.
Plans for the fight were announced at the Lukwago Fitness Centre, Kampala on Tuesday.
Proprietors of the Centre offered Tugume free gym services ahead of the fight in March.
