Residents of Bushenyi and the surrounding areas are bitter following the failure by domestic kickboxing’s most popular figure Moses Golola to turn up for the Bushenyi Run.

The Kampala-based fighter had been invited as one of the runners in the event held on Saturday.

Several people, who lined up along the event route hoping to watch Golola, left disappointed.

Efforts had been made for Golola to travel to Bushenyi on a helicopter with the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura who was the chief guest.

The Run, held for the second year running, is part of a campaign to fight malnutrition in Bushenyi.

A recent United Nations survey indicated that Bushenyi has the highest number of malnourished children in Uganda.
