Voting is under in the Amuru Parliamentary byelections.
Five candidates are in the race. The seat fell vacant following former water minister Betty Bigombe's resignation after securing a job at the World Bank.
The canidates include two indepedent candidates Pauline Acan and Caroline Aber, Lucy Akello ( Inter Party Coalition), Jane Francesca Amongin Okili (NRM) and Suzan Obwot Adokorach (Conservative Party).
The Police have assured the electorate of maximum security during the voting exercise.
The director of operations, Fred Kaweesi, said together with other security agencies, enough deployment will be made.
