FUFA Competition Committee has demoted Mutundwe Lions FC from the Big League to the Rubaga DFA Fourth Division League after they skipped four successive matches.

Mutundwe Lions have not honoured four matches since the league started in October. They have skipped matches against Synergy, Kirinya Jinja SSS, Maroons FC and Kasese New Villa FC.

“Mutundwe Lions FC, missed 3 league matches in the season, the FCC invoked Art 25(8b) and the team is demoted to Rubaga DFA Fourth Division League,” FUFA Manager Competitions Ali Mwebe told a federation’s weekly press conference.

When contacted for comments as to why the team largely believed to be funded by the FUFA president Moses Magogo could not honour their matches, the club general secretary Rashid Nyanzi reffered the New Vision to Magogo.

Magogo is currently in Doha, Qatar for a meeting with FIFA officials and so could not be reached for a comment.

Kirinya Jinja SSS, Maroons, VCC, Masaka LC and CRO football clubs have suffered various disciplinary decisions for violating rules of the competition.
