Serie A Men’s Play-offs:

Nkumba University men's volleyball club came from 2-0 down to  defeat KAVC in the semi-final play-off at Lugogo MTN Arena.

KAVC took an early 2-0 lead with 25-22 and 25-16 wins but were later shocked by the regrouping of Nkumba that snatched the third set 27-29, fourth one 30-32 and then the decisive set 15-13.

Coach Tonny Lakony read the game well and made vital changes that saw him move Jackson Mari from centre play to Outside attack where he paired well with youngster Cathbert Malinga.

KAVC clearly struggled in the absence of main attacker Daudi Okello who is preparing for his final exams at Kitende.

In the other semi-final play-off, defending champions Nemo Stars defeated contenders Sport-S Volleyball Club 3-0 (25-14, 25-19 and 25-23) in a match that didn’t live up to expectation. George Aporu was very instrumental in cracking down Sport S.

Women's Play-offs

Defending champions Ndejje University Elites stood firm whipping three times League Champions Nkumba University in 3-0 straight sets.

Nkumba failed to stop Ndejje’s attacks as Saidat Nnungi went on rampage. Nkumba struggled to fight back through Astreede Agaba and Eunice Amuron but were frustrated by Ndejje’s good net defence.

The match ended 25-21, 25-21 and 25-18 respectively.
