Outstanding Ugandans recognized in South Africa at the STARQT awards

Last Saturday night, October the 4th was a night to remember for Ugandans living down in South Africa. This was at the very first STARQT awards recognizing Ugandan artists, entrepreneurs, leaders, models, Ugandan owned businesses, achievers and role models based in South Africa.

The awards ceremony which took place at Wits theatre, Braamfontein in Johannesburg attracted numerous guests; mostly the Ugandan community in the Southern Africa nation.

These awards, courtesy of STARQT fashion house are set to maintain an annual commitment to celebrate, acknowledge and reward excellence as well as honor achievers and their impact on the Ugandan Community.

The key recognitions in the awards were; Sam Kavuma, who scooped the accolade for best entrepreneur, S.K Mbuga who won in the richest person category; beating close contenders Ivan Semwanga and Mrs. Sarah Jamil, among others, as well as the most patriotic person award going to Hajji Medi Mthupi.
