Eastern Uganda - The Police in Mbale are hunting for a 57-year-old man who is accused of defiling his daughter.

Michael Gidudu, a mechanic with four wives, is a resident of Mukuwa cell in Wanale division, Mbale municipality.

Eastern regional Police spokesperson Diana Nandawula said they were tracking Gidudu’s movements and a file had been opened at Mbale Central Police Station.

“We have started hunting for Gidudu. He has been defiling his daughter for the last two years,” Nandawula said.

The girl’s brother said they came to know about the matter after the victim informed her elder sister.

He said they held a family meeting to discuss the matter, but Gidudu lost his temper and stormed out after the girl pinned him for breaking her virginity when she was 12 years old.

The girl’s brother said the meeting resolved to report the case to the Police but that when the cops came to arrest him on December 19, Gidudu jumped through the window and fled.

The girl’s brother said their mother fainted on getting information regarding her daughter’s ordeal.

According to the victim, the first time she was defiled, her mother had gone to Bugiri.

“He sneaked into my room at night when I was asleep. I attempted to shout but he threatened to kill me,” she said.

She added that when he defiled her for the second time, he threatened not to pay her school fees in case she told anybody about it.

“It was painful. I had to endure for the purpose of staying in school. I am appealing to anybody to rescue me and bring this man to book,”she said.
