Bad Black convicted of embezzling sh11b

Bad Black has been convicted of embezzling sh11b from a company she jointly owned with her British lover, David Greenhalgh.

Shanita Namuyimbwa a.k.a. Bad Black has been convicted of embezzling sh11b from Daveshan, a company she jointly owned with her British lover, David Greenhalgh.

Her accomplice, Meddie Ssentogo, a city socialite was also convicted of conspiring to defraud the company.

The Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala presided over by Justice Catherine Bamugemereire found the two guilty after ten months of hearing the case. Bad Black and Ssentongo will be handed their sentences on Thursday

In September 2010, Greenhalgh jointly formed a company with Bad Black. The company which was registered as Daveshan Development Limited, sought to deal in Real Estate.

Greenhalgh, who is a manager in Air Services in the UK, had 75% shares while Bad Black had 25% shares. The two opened an account in Barclays Bank Garden City to operate the business.

According to prosecutors, Bad Black did not contribute any money towards the opening the business but she reportedly had 25% shares in the company.

On September 2010 and March2011, Greenhalgh deposited $3,824,130 from UK to facilitate the business. On December 5, 2010, Greenhalgh came to Uganda to monitor the progress of their business but Bad Black allegedly failed to account for the money.
