THE Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has amended its plea to the East African Court of Justice over the election of the members to the East African legislative Assembly (EALA).

Addressing journalists at the party’s press briefing last evening, the party spokesperson, Wafula Oguttu said they have amended their application challenging the entire election exercise.

“Our original application was challenging National Resistance Movement (NRM) for taking the majority seats contrary to the treaty. Now we are contesting the whole exercise because it violates the EAC treaty,” he said.

Oguttu said their lawyers will travel to Arusha to file the amendment. The Lawyers include, Ladislus Rwakafuzi, Abdu Katuntu and Paul Mwiru.

FDC also asked the Democratic Party (DP) to support its proposal for a single opposition candidate in the Bukoto South by - election.

FDC has endorsed Julius Sentamu as FDC flag bearer to contest against DP’s Mathius Nsubuga and NRM’s Alintuma Nsambu

“DP should come and we discuss these issues instead of complaining on the streets. Our doors are still open for talks if not they should never blame us when we nominate our candidates, “Oguttu noted.

He commended the people of Bushenyi for taking a ‘wise decision’ to elect an FDC candidate.
