UGANDAN professional golfers Deo Akope and Amos Kamya have entered the lucrative Sunshine Tour in South Africa next month. The players, due to fly out next week, will compete three tournaments.

Each of the tournaments has 3m South African Rands in prize money.
The Ugandans will compete in the Dimension Data Pro-am due February 11-14 in Cape Town.

They will then move to Johannesburg for the Telecom PGA slated for February 18-21 and the Vodacom Championship due February 25-28. All the tournaments will be preceded by qualifying events.

“It’s expensive but I have to go and do my best. I could hit a jackpot there,” Akope said.

“It’s going to be a busy year for me. The hectic first quarter will help me improve my game. Kamya and Akope will head to Mombasa for the KCB Pro-am in March after the South Africa trip.
