Organisations wishing to give aid to the people of Bududa and Butaleja districts have been asked to work with the Government. Cyprian Dhikusooka, the principle disaster management officer, said they want to ensure that all affected people benefit. Dhikusooka was receiving relief items worth sh10m from Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA). The ADRA country director, Edward Damulira, said they donated blankets, mosquito nets, soap, water purification tables, jerrycans, and utensils for about 410 families.

The Police are holding a man suspected to have defiled a two-year-old child in Muti Cell. The eastern Police commander, Joel Aguma, identified the man as Fred Nangoli, 23. the child’s mother, Amina Nakasirye, sounded an alarm when she reportedly found Nangoli defiling her daughter. Aguma said a medical examination confirmed that the girl had been defiled, adding that Nangoli would be charged with aggravated defilement.
