I am worried about the rampant accidents in Iganga on the Jinja-Bugiri highway.

Save us from the accidents
I am worried about the rampant accidents in Iganga on the Jinja-Bugiri highway.

While we are all grateful and thankful to the Government and the road construction company for the commendable work done, the company forgot paramount components:

•The portion of the highway from Nakavuule roundabout to Walugogo roundabout has many black spots for accidents during the wee hours especially around Hared Petrol Station.

•The company did not erect any road signs warning of the black spots.

•It did not put any humps to slow down vehicles especially as one approaches the accident prone spots or busy spots

•It did not realise that zebra-crossings are a vital instrument in helping pedestrians cross the road as motorists slow down to enable easy crossing.

In view of the above, I appeal for urgent help from the Government, the construction company and the Police to save us from these accidents.

Otherwise we are bound to lose many of our children. Many have been run over by motorists.

Some have died while others have been hospitalised and survived but the motorists have always sped away after the accidents!
