PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has advised Ugandans to utilise the enormous natural resources the country has to ensure decent and harmonious living.

“Our task, therefore, is to boldly and with knowledge, face the challenges of poverty which lead to poor conditions of living,” Museveni said.

The advice was contained in the President’s message to Ugandans as the country enters the Holy month of Ramadhan during which Muslims throughout the world embark on a period of fasting. Fasting started on Wednesday.

“In the spirit of commitment to our national motto, For God and My Country, I salute you for entering the Holy month of Ramadhan.”

“Ramadhan is an important period in our spiritual enrichment. By expressing our sincere devotion to God during this period, we strengthen our faith which guides our way of life,” the statement said.

The President urged Muslims to use Ramadhan to reflect on what they had done and failed to do to fight poverty.
“I, once again, wish you a happy and prosperous Month of Ramadhan and may Allah bless you all.”
