MP Godi vows to contest for seat
Arua Municipality MP Hussein Akbar Godi has vowed to stand against the recently-elected FDC flag-bearer, Amina Atako, as he fights to retain his seat. He announced the decision during a press conference in Arua town on Saturday. Godi, who earlier conceded defeat after the resounding win of Atako, a local journalist and FDC’s Arua district publicity secretary, said his nemesis was the choice of a compromised electoral college but not the voters who are the majority.
Residents receive HIV/AIDS message
Residents of Adalafu village in Arua district were recently mesmerised by Onialeku Church-based post-test club during an HIV/AIDS sensitisation campaign at Onduparaka market. Comprising 21 members who are on anti-retroviral treatment, the group staged a variety of performances, ranging from drama, songs and poems. They also gave testimonies about their personal experiences of living with AIDS.
