Number of rape cases irks judge

HIGH Court judge Benjamin Kabiito has decried the high number of sexual assault cases in Luwero district, urging local leaders to create awareness about the social vice. Kabiito noted that the number of rape and defilement cases outnumbered all other capital offices in the district. “Sexual assault cases appear to be on a high side in this area. There is an awareness problem,” the judge told journalists on Monday.Kabiito, who is to preside over a 40-day High Court session in the district, said he would hear 50 capital cases, of which 35 are of rape and defilement.


Sh210m for road rehabilitation

THE Government has allocated sh210m for the development of community roads in Kayunga town council, Busaana and Kayunga sub-counties. The roads to be constructed include Lufula- Ndeeba, Kiwangula-Nanyuki, Kisombwa-Kiryamuli, Kanjuki-Kiteredde, Bugogge-Busaale and Busaale-Kyebanja.
