FINANCE experts are considering increased integration of modern technology as a solution to the high costs associated with banking.

Stephen Mukweli, the managing director of Post Bank, said banks need to take advantage of technology and lure the non-banking population on board.

Mukweri was speaking at the signing of a partnership that will enable Zain customers registered for Zap mobile money transfer to access money across Post Bank’s 34 branches countrywide.

“This marks a significant milestone in easing access to financial services by customers who otherwise wouldn’t be able to enjoy benefits of the new and modern mobile telephone banking,” Mukweri said.

Zain Uganda’s managing director, Yesse Oenga, said Zap subscribers would soon be able to make cross border payments for free.
