THE second edition of the Castle Lager national league will start April 13, according to the 2003 calendar released by the Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) yesterday.
The season will open with the fourth International Cricket Council (ICC) students’ academy that will be supervised by ICC regional development officer Tom Tikolo at Lugogo this month.
The British Council Dreams and Teams projects will start late January just before the Luswata knockout Cup.
UCA will be represented at a spin-bowling seminar in Zimbabwe set for February before the associations’ Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the same month.
The prestigious Mawanda knockout Cup and the Bagurusi Saturday professionals league will take centre stage before the regional and District Mini cricket festivals in March.
“There are so many activities set and our target is to have all of them done,†UCA administrative officer Arthur Nuwagaba revealed.
According to the packed calendar, the national senior team will tour South Africa and Kenya in March and April respectively.
Primary schools that would have excelled at the district and regional levels will camp at Lugogo in July for the national mini cricket finals.
UCA again has plans to participate in the third Malaysia Associates tournament set for May 27.
