MUKONO town mayor Johnson Ssenyonga has petitioned the speaker of parliament, Edward Ssekandi, asking him to intervene in a row in which Mukono north MP, the Rev. Peter Bakaluba Mukasa, allegedly incited residents not pay taxes to the council.
In a letter dated January 14, Ssenyonga also alleged that Bakaluba wanted to forcefully take a plot belonging to his neighbour, Samsbaker Munyageri, using his privileged post as MP.
However, Bakaluba dismissed the accusations.
“I have never constructed a perimeter wall on the plot and I did not incite any residents against paying taxes to the council,” he said.
Bakaluba said he had talked to Ssekandi about the petition.
“The Speaker has promised to reply their letter this week,” Bakaluba added.
