Federo is undemocratic, if you didn’t know!

SIR— Those Baganda agitating for federo have to wake up to changed circumstances.

SIR— Those Baganda agitating for federo have to wake up to changed circumstances. The political system they want had its time that is long gone. I also wish to point out that there appears to be a silent majority of Baganda, especially the younger generation, who are either ambivalent or against federo.
Therefore, when people in the Mengo establishment speak of unanimous Buganda support, this is not true. They themselves were never elected, they were just appointed.
To compare the federal system of America with the federo they are wishing for shows the weightlessness of the federo argument. The American system is democratic, that is all governors and top officials are elected on merit not due to accident of birth! They can be removed if they do not perform but this option does not exist within federo. So it is quite surprising to see people like Mr John Ken-Lukyamuzi, MP Lubaga South, claiming to be ardent monarchists as well as passionate democrats! The two systems are mutually exclusive!
I appeal to non-Baganda like Dr James Rwanyarare and retired Bishop Cyprian Bamwoze to address their views about federo to Mengo, not Baganda as a whole. An unelected body residing in Bulange cannot be representative of all Baganda.
