A letter signed by the Kyamuhunga LC3 chairman paul Turyamureeba, said the bank had tried to “bring services nearer to the people but was frustrated by people like Karokoro.”all applicants.

Road repair Launched
HOIMA — Rehabilitation of of Kikuube-Kitindura road in Buhaguzi county has started after the government released sh100m. Work started on Wednesday with a ground-breaking ceremony at Kikuube county headquarters. A Chinese construction company, Complant Trading Uganda Ltd., won the tender to rehabilitate the road.

MUK students start scheme
KABALE — Makerere University students have started a scheme to assist their colleagues with funds to top up their tuition and buy essential items. The patron of Ndorwa Students Association, David Bahati, said the scheme would also help to inculcate in the members a savings and loan repayment culture. He was meeting members at Makerere Guest House.

Councillors visit Kenya
BUSHENYI — The district council yesterday left for Kenya for a one-week tour. The team was accompanied by the resident district commissioner, Bamusede Bwambale, and the chief administrative officer, Johnson Bitarabeho. The chief organiser of the trip, Gordon Arinda, said it was sponsored by city tycoon Hassan Basajbalababa.

One killed in land row
MASINDI — One person was on Thursday killed and several others injured in a fight over a land dispute in Kyatiri village, Pakanyi sub-county. The regional Police commander mid-western, Grace Turyagumanawe, identified the dead as George Byegarazo, 70. Turyagumanawe said two suspects were arrested in connection to the murder. Ends
