KAPCHORWA resident district commissioner Tezira Jamwa has set up a team to investigate an illegal recruitment of 100 youth in Kaserem and Kawowo sub- counties.
KAPCHORWA resident district commissioner Tezira Jamwa has set up a team to investigate an illegal recruitment of 100 youth in Kaserem and Kawowo sub- counties, reports Rashid Muzungyo.
Jamwa said the recruitment allegedly spearheaded by Capt. Juma Seiko was disowned by the UPDF chief of staff, Brig. Lakara and the UPDF 3rd division commander, Col. Sula Semakula.
Jamwa who is also the chairperson of the district security committee said the recruitment was a threat to the security status in the district.
She was addressing district leaders about the district security situation at Kook Hall, Kapchorwa town.
“This was an illegal recruitment because there was no advertisement made. The district security officials were not informed about it,†she said.
Jamwa was responding to complaints by district councillors over the exercise that was secretly conducted.
The councillors demanded that Jamwa explain the circumstances under which the exercise was effected in the area without the knowledge of the RDC’s office.
She criticised LC5 councils in Kaserem and Kawowo sub-counties for failure to inform her her about the exercise.
Jamwa said the information was relayed to her office by residents.
