ACTION Party president Nelson Malinga Ocheger has broken ranks once again with the mainstream opposition politicians and endorsed the resolution adopted by the Movement calling for removal of the two-term limit for the president.
“If democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people, it becomes perfectly logical for all stakeholders to leave the voters to decide on who becomes President no matter how many times they freely and fairly vote for him/her,” said Ocheger in a two-page statement yesterday.
Ocheger first hit headlines in 2000 when he disregarded a boycott of the referendum on the political system by the mainstream opposition.
Ocheger, with others formed the Multiparty National Referendum Committee.
