After her maternity hiatus, in which she successfully bore a 3.670kg son Eko, France-based former I-Jay vocalist Irene Namubiru is back on the music scene.

Not with something of her own. At least, not yet. But with something that might act as a stepping stone for better things to come.

“On the musical side, I've been doing quite a lot of stuff, including back-up vocals on Les Nubians’ latest album One Step Forward, which was released March 25.

You’ll probably manage to recognise my voice somewhere or at least on the next single Insomnie.

The album is doing quite well here (France) and the Nubians have just finished a very successful tour in the US. I'm about to complete a musical project with a partner called Julien (boy) which includes a single in Luganda, named Eko dedicated to my son.

I am still trying to find the meaning of this name Ekodelele though,” Namubiru, who clarified that hubby Frank Morel is not her manager, told Weekend Vision.
