SOROTI — The President will address the people of Teso on the recent infiltration of Kony’s Lord's Resistance Army rebels. Health state minister Capt. Mike Mukula said this during a security meeting with municipality leaders.He said the President would address them in the course of the week.

Soroti MP homeless
SOROTI — Soroti MP Samuel Anyolo was left homeless after rebels set his seven-roomed house in Tubur sub-county ablaze on Sunday. Anyolo yesterday said he had lost household property including a solar system. He said the whereabouts of his animals were unknown. He is staying in his unroofed house in the town with over 100 people who also ran away from the rebels.

Nsibambi in Washington
KAMPALA — Prime Minister Apolo Nsibambi on Sunday left for Washington DC where he will represent the President at the US Africa business summit. It is expected to be attended by various heads of State and American businessmen. Nsibambi will also present a paper on opportunities for investment in Uganda.

DPP drops URA case
kampala — The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) has dropped legal proceedings against two Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) officials accused of causing a financial loss of over sh250m. Kashumba Arinaitwe, 39, and Adeline Bawine, 33, both senior revenue officers, were acquitted on Friday upon receiving the withdrawal letter form the DPP.
