ENTEBBE International Airport was put under full emergency on Saturday morning when a DAIRO Air Services (DAS) DC 10 aircraft developed problems with its undercarriage after take off from Lagos, Nigeria.

“For more than one hour, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) declared a full emergency over Entebbe to prepare in case the aircraft failed to land safely. The DC10 with registration 5X 400JR was supposed to land at Entebbe at 8:am on Saturday. But the pilot reported to Entebbe a fault while airborne from Nigeria,” sources at Entebbe said.

CAA spokesman Ignie Igunduura said, “It is true the aircraft had a serious problem with its under- carriage. But they somehow managed to land.”
