MEMBERS of the Acholi Parliamentary Group (AGP) ended the peace mobilisation week with a call to the people of Acholi to forgive Lord’s Resistance Army rebels who surrender under the amnesty law.

The MPs conducted 12 peace meetings in Gulu, Kitgum and Pader districts.

Addressing the last meeting at Acet in Gulu, the MPs appealed to rebel leader Joseph Kony to stop abducting people and ambushing vehicles.

APG chairman Zakary Olum said the MPs had set aside their political differences to fight for peace in the region.

Lamwo county MP Hillary Onek urged residents to support the Government’s programmes aimed at restoring peace.

Santa Okot (Woman, Pader) who is a member of the Presidential Peace Team, said Kony could be forgiven if he surrendered under the amnesty law.
