THE paramount chief of Sebei, Sali Bilal Matui, has warned Sabiny politicians against dominating local politics, reports Rashid Muzungyo.

“Politicians with selfish interests want my people to remain divided and poor,” Matui said.

He said the kingdom detested politics of intrigue, sectarianism and nepotism.

He said this during his recent visit to Kapchorwa town.

Matui, who is due for coronation next year, said politicians should discuss policies that would foster development in the kingdom.

He said petty politics had frustrated unity and co-operation among the Sabiny.

Matui was responding to rumours that local politicians were spreading malicious propaganda and that the kingdom was a non-existent.

He it was a cultural right of the Sabiny to have a kingdom.
