MULTIPARTYISTS have welcomed the decision by some MPs to protest by walking out of Parliament.

Over 30 MPs led by Okullo Epak on Wednesday marched out of Parliament in protest to the Government’s failure to end the war in the north and northeastern Uganda.

“We share the concerns and grief expressed by the MPs from northern and northeastern Uganda. We support the actions they have taken in peaceful protest against the Government’s failed policy in the affected areas,” the partyists said in a joint statement issued on Friday.

Democratic Party president Paul Ssemogerere, UPC Presidential Policy Commission chairman Dr. James Rwanyarare and Ken Lukyamuzi (Conservative Party) signed it.

Kibirige Mayanja (Justice Forum), Chappa Karuhanga (National Democratic Forum) signed the statement.
