MPs yesterday rejected the use of former Big Brother Africa hero Gaetano Kaggwa by the Government as a role model in the fight against AIDS during the World AIDS Day on December 1.

Gaetano and his other 11 housemates have been invited to grace then occasion.
The House, chaired by Deputy Speaker Rebecca Kadaga, unanimously termed Gaetano and his cronies as “total disgrace”.

The MPs rejected the invitation, after the presentation of the first report of the Committee on HIV/AIDS and other related matters, by the committee chairman Dr. Elioda Tumwesigye (Sheema North).

Kagimu Kiwanuka moved the motion that the House disassociates itself from the use of the former Big Brother Housemates as role models in the fight against the scourge.
Sarah Kiyingi (Rakai) asked the Government to explain why it had picked Gaetano as a role model.

“Gaetano failed to abstain from sex, he jumped into bed with a woman at first sight and played sex live on TV. What role model can this man be? I am speaking for parents, what is Gaetano going to tell our children? We reject this Gaetano and his Abby and we ask our children to reject them and their Big Brother Housemates,” she said.
