APAC — The district will recruit 12,000 local militia to boost the security situation in Alito, Aboke and Otwal sub-counties, the 4th division commander Nathan Mugisha recently said. He encouraged the youth to join the militia to restore peace in the region.

19 remanded
NEBBI — The court recently remanded 19 students of Angal Secondary School for taking part in a strike that left property worth millions of shillings destroyed. The prosecutor said among the destroyed were UNEB examination papers, a typewriter, window glasses and other school properties.

Four injured
MOYO — At least four passengers, including the LC5 vice-chairman, Louis Opigo, were recently injured when thugs ambushed a Gateway bus to Kampala. The incident happened at Chala bridge, about 10km east of the town.
