The greatest gift in the world is love. There is probably no better way to show that you love someone than by doing something good for them.

On the day before Christmas, Miracle Centre Cathedral invited about 3000 children from Makerere, Kamwokya, Banda, Luzira, Nakawa, Mukono and Kajjansi to a Children’s Christmas Day. Christmas is that very special time of the year for giving and receiving love.

It was a very joyous day for the many children gathered in a single place. Some were as young as four years. The party which started at around 11am ended late in the evening. Children sang songs of praise, played with their friends and listened to gospel music while waiting to be served with delicious food, Jesus Christ’s birthday cake and gifts.

Pastor Kayanja later picked on three little children, who were also born in December like Jesus, to cut the cake with him. Many children scrambled to get a piece of Jesus Christ’s sweet birthday cake because they thought they would miss out. But in the end, everyone tasted the cake. By the way, if Jesus had remained on earth, he would be 2035 years old. It is now 2003 years since he died at the age of 32.

Children screamed in excitement when Pastor Kayanja announced that it was time for gifts. There were about 3000 gift boxes. Pastor Kayanja and many volunteers made sure each child received a gift box which contained different varieties of sweets, three packets of biscuits, balloons, toothpaste and toothbrush, books and pens, juice, six different toys and soap.

Other special gift boxes had clothes. Sana Juice Company provided 1872 free bottles of juice while Miracle Centre Cathedral provided the rest of the gifts.

“I am very excited to get a gift. It is a miracle because I was not sure I would get a gift but God has done it for me,” Simon Okwii from Banda said. Opichan from Lubaga road said, “I have never received a gift before, that is why I am very happy. I will keep coming to church.”
