LUWEERO — About sh83m which the Government released to pay gratuity for pensioners in the district was embezzled by the district officials, the IGG, Jotham Tumwesigye, has said. “The district received a release from the central government for pensioners but it was all embezzled,” reads a report on alleged financial mismanagement in the district which the IGG released last week.

‘War to end’
LIRA — Lango Bishop John Charles Odurkami has predicted that the 17-year-long war in northern Uganda will end in the new year. He was recently preaching to many Christians at the Uganda Technical College. He said there were many indications that Kony’s LRA would be defeated by the Amuka militia. “We have declared a spiritual war against Joseph Kony and his fighters,” he said.
