Two dead in car accident
MASINDI — Two people died when a Ministry of Defence vehicle, crashed into a tree, 19km after Kafu bridge on the Kampala-Gulu highway on Tuesday. The Mid-Western regional Police Commander, Grace Turyagumanawe, said the accident happened at Wakisanyi trading centre.

KAMPALA — The City Council (KCC) needs about sh78b to control floods in the heavily populated areas of Bwaise and Kalerwe, the coordinator of the Nakivubo Channel Rehabilitation Programme, Tamale Kiggundu, said yesterday. He said KCC had presented its proposal to the Ministry of Finance.

GULU — A senior Uganda Television (UTV) journalist, Toya Kilama, was on Tuesday buried at his home in Agwe parish, Laroo Division. Kilama died of renal failure at Gulu Independent Hospital on Saturday.
