IDPs get iron sheets

A TOTAL of 232 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Gulu have received 6,960 iron sheets as part of the resettlement package provided by the Government.

A TOTAL of 232 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Gulu have received 6,960 iron sheets as part of the resettlement package provided by the Government.

Gulu deputy resident district commissioner Milton Odongo on Wednesday said the distribution of the iron sheets started in October.

A total of 450 other IDPs are expected to receive 13,505 iron sheets. They will be identified by LCs. e said: “The iron sheets were initially for Gulu, before Amuru had been curved out to create a new district.”

“The iron sheets were shared between Gulu and Amuru,” he explained. dongo said the iron sheets had already been distributed in Bobi, Lakwena, Koro, Odek, Lalogi, Paicho, Bung, Atira, Ongako and Patiko sub-counties.
