EDITOR—It is now common for the opposition leaders or politicians to incite the public to fight the government. Some of these people include party spokespersons like the FDC mouthpiece Wafula Oguttu. The argument is that the NRM party rigs elections. However, the arguments overlook a number of factors:
lWhy doesn’t the NRM government rig elections throughout the country?

Interestingly the opposition believes that the elections are only fair when the NRM loses. When they win they say they have won, and when they lose they say elections were rigged.

lThe opposition at times fails to field candidates in most parts of the country.
That means they lack candidates in those areas and therefore give the NRM candidates the opportunity to be elected unopposed. I would like to inform people like Wafula that Ugandans know better.

They cannot be incited to take up arms against the government that has restored the right to vote. In addition, the Army, Police and other security organs will always remain neutral and ready to defend the country.

Even when revolutionaries die today, our young generation is there and determined to defend our country as well as provide the promised security to wanainchi and their property.
