No! I am married to Kagwa Kalule; we met at a social function in Kampala. He was seated next to me and initiated a conversation, which led to more details including exchange of mobile phone numbers. He seriously made a follow up and I realised he was serious.
What did you like about him that sparked off your love?
Laughs. He has a combination of good things; his sense of humour is charming while his perennial smile is infectious, but his behaviour was out of this world; in Luganda they say 'yankakanya'!
Did your parents immediately approve him?
Yeah! My parents’ policy has been clear; they say as long as their daughter detects seriousness in a man; they have no objection. They asked him whether he was serious and I assured them he was.
Is your husband what you wished to get?
Of course, he is! If he wasn’t the right one I wouldn’t be with him. Honestly speaking I didn’t want to get a man who would be at home all the time. You see, sometimes being with someone all the time can cause conflicts and quarrels, but someone who travels gives you breathing space. This space also helps you to avoid familiarity, which they say breeds contempt. Basically, his lifestyle played a big role in our dating. The rest was determined by his personality.
Do you ever cook special foods for romance?
All foods are romantic; it depends on how you serve or prepare them.
Does your husband help you in kitchen chores?
When he is free at home, we share domestic chores. He is a tidy man and willing to work all the time. He is that kind who will not wait for you to finish showering to come and remove plates and cups from the table. He can detect that I am tired and what he does is to help himself with whatever he wants from anywhere without bothering me!
Would you report his best friend with a wandering eye?
I cannot hesitate because it is dangerous to protect devil! Honestly, if someone is your friend he should respect you. That indecent stare at your friend’s wife is tantamount to crime. It can only be stopped by a harsh penalty.
