<b>Ban prostitutes, RDC charges</b><br>LIRA-The resident district commissioner (RDC), Joan Pacoto, has urged the municipal council to enact a bylaw to make it hard for commercial sex work to flourish. Pacoto said this would reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS.

LIRA-The resident district commissioner (RDC), Joan Pacoto, has urged the municipal council to enact a bylaw to make it hard for commercial sex work to flourish. Pacoto said this would reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS. “If you can chase away street kids, why not the sex workers?” Pacoto asked recently. She was addressing health workers and civil society leaders at a forum for HIV/AIDS counselling and testing. It was organised by the AIDS Information Centre at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

Mvara re-union for Saturday
ARUA-Mvara Secondary School Old Students will on Saturday hold a re-union. The headmaster, Aggrey Tata Izio, said it would be the first time the students are meeting since 1965. He said the alumni would discuss declining academic performance. Over 600 guests are expected to attend.
