BUDO SS picked up a double when their boys’ and girls’ teams won the National Secondary School championship titles at Lugogo over the weekend.
Iddi Mpuga scored in the dying minutes of the game as Budo beat defending champions Kololo SS 1-0 in the final.
In the girls’ event Budo again edged out champions Kololo 3-2 in the competition that attracted 10 teams from six schools.
City High’s William Okecho was voted best player among the boys’ after scoring seven goals in the championship, while Flavia Larcey from Kololo won the top award in the girls’ category.
Budo, Kololo and City High will represent Uganda in the boys’ East Africa championships alongside Gayaza and Kololo in the girls’ category.
