EDITOR—I am disappointed with the way Makerere University treats diploma holders applying for government sponsorship. These people apply through the Diploma Scheme Entry Programme.

However, for the last three years diploma holders have been paying sh20,000 each but not a single one has ever been successful! Is Makerere only interested in the applicants’ money?
