SHARON Pajije and Hafsa Nakalema surprised everybody let alone themselves when they won last Sunday’s beach volleyball circuit.

The pair, who had struggled to make an impact since the beginning of the season, overcame the resilient partnership of Vivienne Aketch and Viola Akisa in straight sets 21-14 22-20.

“Sharon and Hafsa started in high gear by winning all their preliminary matches and it was a good win for them,” UVF beach volleyball chairman Mofaht Masaba said as the youngest winners of the year were crowned.

In the men’s category Luke Eittit reaffirmed his supremacy at the Club Pilsener sponsored third leg of the circuit, picking his first trophy pairing with new partner Richard Tamale. The final was a repeat of a preliminary round encounter against Jeff Lwalanda and Isaac Omedo who they overcame in three sets. Next on the calendar is the Kenya International in Mombasa.
