Ednah Bideri, Nabisunsa Girls’ School
As much as we eat we need water to drink. I take a box of mineral water to school because it is safe and clean. Our school provides drinking water but I do not trust it. When my mineral water runs out, I call mum to bring me more or I take splash.

Sylvia Kamariza, Gayaza High School

I carry a box of mineral water at the beginning of the term but my parents bring me another lot on visitation day. I prefer mineral water and only go to the dinning hall when it runs out.

Wilbert Vundru, Katikamu SDA SS

We always scramble for drinking water the school provides. With the big population, it is impossible to get this water, so I carry my own. When it runs out I bear with the situation and drink school water. Mostly, I buy my own.

Fahd Suuna, S.5, Gombe S.S

I take two boxes of mineral water which last me a term, because the drinking point is far. I cannot always go to the dining room each time I am thirsty.

Eunice Wanican, S.2, Brilliant Secondary School, Kawempe

I started packing mineral water last term because I got typhoid thrice during third term last year. The doctors said I was taking unclean water yet it was the drinking water from school. It is stored in buckets in the kitchen.

Derrick Wasswa, Makerere College School

I take a box of mineral water because I need water to stay healthy. When my stock runs out, I resort to buying from the school canteen. I cannot take the school’s drinking water though I would not say why.
