Widow inheritance is a primitive act. The media has been awash with stories of widows being inherited by their in-laws. For a long time, women had no say over their own destiny which was a matter between men of the husbands’ clan or sometimes their own relatives.

The social structure of society has given men the upperhand over women which has created problems.

In this day and age, the ‘modern’ view of the world and the influence of religion in our societies, widow inheritance should not exist.
