â€œWhereas Ethiopians consume 50% of their coffee, Ugandans take 1% to 2% of their coffee and the rest is exported,â€ Omari noted. He also said farmers needed to be sensitised on how to improve the quality of their coffee so that it can fetch a higher price.
The East African Fine Coffee Association, in conjunction with the World Bank through USAID, has embarked on improving the quality of coffee in East Africa.
