ORGANISERS of the National Primary Schools Athletics Championship have set height and weight limits to cut on cheating by competitors in Gulu this month.

According to National Primary Schools Sports Association technical official Martin Okwir, the restriction was meant to ensure fair-play for all teams.

The annual championship is slated for March 30 to April 5. Wakiso district are defending champions.

According to Okwir, lower category athletes are expected to measure at most 275 units while the maximum for those in the upper class is 310. The units, he said comprise the height, half height plus the weight of the athlete.
