The war is on: Maxwell should leave the house

MERYL’S ouster on Sunday was a big achievement, the reason Maureen survived Monday night’s nominations for possible eviction on the Dstv/MNet reality show. Now we can rest assured that Maureen can have her cake and eat it too.

And who knows? The Ugandan beauty might go all the way, considering that she has now styled up and started giving the audience more of what she is made of. Her nomination for possible eviction last week was a good pointer since it sent home a message: “Your laid-back strategy is not working.”

If Angola’s Tatiana, who nominate a housemate for no apparent reason, are still on our side, Maureen is still in the house.

The nominations turned up an interesting lot to pick from. We have Tanzania’s Richard, Maxwell (Zambia) and Tatiana up for possible eviction. Tatiana was not on the list originally, but Lerato, the week’s house head, used her powers to save herself, putting Tatiana instead.

It is likely that several other countries are going to vote Richard out of the house. This almost guarantees that he is going home come Sunday. When Maureen was up for possible eviction last week, Tanzania did not vote against Uganda. They gave Meryl the boot. Maureen and Richard are friends and have occasionally spoken some Luganda since Richard has lived in Uganda before. So we need to save him.

Tatiana is also very friendly with Maureen and Angola has been saving our girl the previous times she has been under fire. My take is that we save her, since she has not come against us. This leaves us with Maxwell as the guy to flush down the sink. Remember that Maureen nominated him, which means that even if we save him, Maxwell’s country has already blacklisted Maureen and are waiting for any chance to express it using their vote.

As house head last week, Maxwell had the power to save a housemate. But it was not Maureen he saved. So why should we keep him in the house? Vote now; send Maxwell home so that Maureen has a chance at winning the sh175m jackpot.

To evict Maxwell, type Vote Maxwell, send to 15626 (MTN and Celtel), and 5626 (utl), or vote online at www.mnetafrica.co.za/bigbrother.

We have incorporated a new enemy in Ghana’s Kwaku. For the second time now, the rap-star wannabe has nominated our girl, maintaining that she is withdrawn. He has picked up from where Meryl left off, probably because Meryl initially disliked Maureen’s close attachment to Nigeria’s Ofunneka. Should Kwaku come up for possible eviction someday, you know what to do.

Of course, Bertha will not relent. She nominated Maureen again, which made the Ugandan have two votes, much akin to most housemates — an indication that our girl is not doing badly. It is just that Bertha is also at par with Maureen. Since she was saved two weeks ago, she has taken to pretence towards the nomination day and things seem to be going for her. But Maureen will not get fooled by this. She is so far one of the few who can see through Bertha’s façade and has opened war against her. These two see each other as threats and will not relent until one of them leaves.

It is just as well that the fights are not apparent, or physical because our Maureen would not handle a physical fight — at least from her size. Maxwell has also realised that Bertha is a schemer, and in fact, nominated her on Monday. We need the emergence of a third enemy for Bertha so that she is up for possible eviction. Once that happens, she will not survive considering that voters out here know her for a threat.

Code has maintained his position as the only one who has not been nominated so far.

This is how the nominations went:
Maureen voted Bertha and Maxwell. Bertha nominated Maureen and Richard. Richard nominated Maxwell and Lerato. Code nominated Tatiana and Richard.

Tatiana voted Lerato and Maxwell. Ofunneka went for Kwaku and Lerato. Kwaku went for Maureen and Richard. Lerato nominated Tatiana and Richard, then Maxwell nominated Richard and Bertha.
